INTRODUCTION

We are specialist paper, book, map and manuscript conservators and craft bookbinders. As a team, we can offer full paper and book conservation and restoration. Our skills include dry cleaning, full aqueous and spray method deacidification, resizing, wet and dry repairs, relining, encapsulation and resewing of conserved and repaired leaves prior to bookbinding. We also repair individual manuscripts and leaves that are still held in sound bindings along with general refurbishment work.

All our bookbinding is by way of traditional handcraft methods, without the use of machinery. We can reback incorporating the original repaired boards and spines. Full leather and cloth restoration, rebinding and covering can be carried out with gold leaf finishing and tooling. We also make archival drop back boxes and phase boxes, presentation and display folders and bindings to clients own individual specifications. All of the methods and materials that we use are reversible as far as possible.
