Through our work with the Island Archives in Guernsey we were asked to repair an original Book of Sark. The client was living on Sark and had brought his copy over to the Archives by boat.

Following the successful repair of this and other volumes we were contacted by Chris Andrews from Gateway Publishing asking if we would like to be involved in the centenary edition. This was being reproduced from the copper plates used to print the original edition and every effort was made to use the same methods of production as were used 100 years ago.
The forwarding of the centenary edition had already been carried out by another binder; our large traditional blocking press and our ability to work with vellum was a deciding factor in Derry being asked to carry out all of the binding from the sewn book block stage.
Derry worked closely with the publisher to produce a finished book that complimented the printing and was as near to the original as possible.
